Travexplore is an app that helps travelers discover unique destinations by utilizing various phone sensors, such as GPS and motion sensors.
Client
TravExplore was developed for travelers who want a smooth and stress-free vacation experience. The goal was to create a mobile solution that helps vacationers plan activities based on their location, preferences, and real-time conditions. One of the key challenges we aimed to solve was dealing with unexpected changes—such as bad weather—by offering alternative activities. A core requirement was to keep the layout simple and user-friendly, while also making use of various smartphone sensors such as GPS, accelerometer, and weather data.
My Part
TravExplore is a smart activity planner that helps users get the most out of their vacation. Based on their location and environment, users receive personalized activity suggestions. The app adapts to changing circumstances, offering alternative plans if, for example, the weather turns bad. The project was spread across 10 weeks. My Role Weeks 1–6: Group phase During this phase, I worked with a team of designers to conduct user research and explore how we could integrate phone sensors meaningfully into the app. My focus areas included identifying common problems vacationers face, developing a modern visual style, designing a new logo, and helping set the acceptance criteria. Weeks 7–10: Individual prototype development In the final phase, I independently designed the full prototype in Figma. I focused on creating a smooth and intuitive user flow that aligned with the needs discovered during our research. The design went through multiple test iterations and was refined into a fully developed high-fidelity prototype.
